It’s Super Bowl this coming Sunday and we’re celebrating with snacks! I’ve probably mentioned on the blog before that I don’t really follow football or the teams, but I do love having the Super Bowl on and watching the half time show. Plus – the food is really where its at!

What do you like to see on a game day menu!? I envision all the naughty things like pizza, chicken wings, nachos, and a whole lot of dips and chips. Crackers, meats, olives!? I’ll take it all!

This weekend we’re going to have another family over to watch the game with us and partake in some festive food, and this baked goat cheese dip is going to be on the menu!

What is a baked goat cheese dip?

This simple appetizer is warm, bubbly, gooey and delicious! It’s basically goat cheese mixed with a few other ingredients, and baked in the oven until heated through. A great little appetizer to serve with crackers and veggies.

It’s made of these simple ingredients:

  • goat cheese
  • cream cheese
  • parmesan cheese
  • avocado oil

How do you make this dip?

Using the ingredients above, place everything into a food processor or high powered blender and blend until smooth. It may look slightly lumpy from the parmesan cheese, but that’s ok.

Once smooth, empty the contents into a small baking pan or oven-safe dish. I use a 9″ x 5″ baking dish. Sprinkle a little extra parmesan on top, then place the dish in the oven at 400 F for about 15 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and hot.

Once the dish is bubbling, turn the oven to broil for 1-2 minutes, or until the parmesan cheese on top is golden and brown!

Sprinkle some cracked pepper on top of the goat cheese, wait a few minutes for it to cool down before serving.

I love to top mine with some goodies like chopped dates, candied walnuts, and a drizzle of honey.

What do you serve baked goat cheese dip with?

This dip is perfect for various crackers, or veggies. You could also use pretzels or breadsticks! The dip will only serve 3-5 people so if you want to double the recipe, just double all of the ingredients and use an 8″x 8″ baking pan instead.

How long can you keep this dip out at room temperature?

Once you remove it from the oven, the dip will stay nice and warm for about an hour. It’ll still be good after this time, but it won’t be quite as gooey and stringy!

I can attest – it’s even good at room temperature or from the fridge! Stored in the fridge, in an airtight container, this goat cheese dip will last for 3-4 days.

Ingredients

  • 300g (10oz) plain goat cheese, room temperature
  • 125g (4oz) full-fat cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese, plus extra for the top
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil (or other oil)
  • optional: cracked pepper, chopped dates, candied walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F and lightly spray a small oven-safe baking dish with nonstick spray. I used a 9×5 dish.
  2. Place all of the ingredients into a food processor or high powered blender and mix until smooth and creamy. A few lumps from the grated parmesan cheese is ok! Scrape everything into the prepared dish and top with additional grated parmesan. Place the dish in the oven for 15 minutes until bubbly and heated through. Turn the oven to broil for 1-2 minutes until golden on top!
  3. Remove the dip from the oven and cool for a few minutes before servings. Top with cracked pepper, drizzled honey, or candied walnuts.

Dip stays warm and gooey for about an hour out of the oven, after which it will still be delicious at room temperature! Store leftover dip in the fridge, in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
