The top 5 countries for dental care are Denmark, Germany, Finland, Sweden and the UK. You may be surprised to learn that the U.S comes in at number 9 for dental care! That’s because even though we are so fortunate to have access to high-quality dental care, many Americans are uninsured and fear they are unable to afford dental services or make the mistake of choosing not to visit the dentist due to apprehensions that they will have a negative experience in the dental chair. The lowest ranked country for dental care is Kenya, where families typically have to travel long distances to see a dentist. The top ranked countries for dental care have highly accessible and affordable dental care and populations that demonstrate that they value their oral hygiene and dental care routines.

U.S. citizens, and residents of other highly developed countries typically indulge in diets that are high in sugar, processed carbohydrates and other unnatural, unhealthy components. This translates into higher rates of tooth decay and gum disease, especially when coupled with poor dental hygiene. Around the world, poor nutrition has been found to inhibit the growth of teeth and jaws during development and cause problems into adulthood.
