Off the top of my head

- misaligned frother so during the rinse cycle doesn't shoot water directly into the tray, can cause a mess
- no way to access grinder to clean, had to return my first one as it got jammed.
- leaking water and excess grinds inside the machine into the pullout tray
- water not dispensing out of the spout
- poor ventilation so can get moldy inside if you don't let it vent after brewing

My second unit has been going strong and love it, just things to be aware of. The machine has been pulling 5 shots daily since October 2023. LD returns are easy instore so I'm guaranteed atleast 3 years out of this with the extended warranty. I don't know how much of a hassle returns/warranty would be if you didnt have a store nearby. Apparently GE is pretty useless when dealing with warranty.

LD website indicates $49.99 for 2 year protection plan, what is the standard warranty that comes with this unit? Thank you.

As far as I can tell it's one year based on some quick Googling. But many mid/upper tier credit cards will include extended warranty protection at no extra charge... for instance, my RBC WestJet MasterCard doubles the warranty length from one year to two.

not arguing the convenience but i've never had a latte out of a superauto that even tasted remotely like what you get at a cafe.

This is a great machine. Buy it if you drink coffee a lot.
This is good with any med roast from Zavida. Red bag, hazelnut bag used and it's been good.

Only down sides are the sensors are faulty - empty waste, water sensor. The milk steam wand is not aligned so water goes everywhere.
The price and functionality make up for the downsides above though.

I got one last BF and it is fine. Only problem is it's very loud when using the frother - wakes up everyone in the house.

Do other expresso machines have more quiet frothers?

Tried few auto maker but the coffee was always mild, never that hot.

Is there any store in Ottawa that sells it in store and where you can PM?

You can set it up to 197.2 F degrees (92 celsius).

For comparison, we have a nespresso, and this is WAY hotter than anything nespresso can produce.

I bought mine online

I don't have that issue on mine, everything is aligned properly.

Use the right beans and the Americano's are fantastic.

I use these two:

Kicking Horse Coffee, Pacific Pipeline: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01D8BTULM?ref ... tails&th=1

Kicking Horse Coffee, Smart Ass: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B015FY4DVC?ref ... tails&th=1

I've used other autoespresso's and this one by far is the easiest to clean and maintain, and I have zero mess.

That being said, I have never had any of these issues.

Just descale it properly and you should be fine

Maybe it varies by machine? I use one of these:

https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/HD8752_ ... so-machine

And I don't use the steaming wand, I simply heat up milk in a microwave, whip it up with a $10 frother, pour it over a couple espresso shots and it's great. The beans are the single biggest variable IMO, if you like the third-wave type coffee then you need to get your beans from one (or roast yourself in that style). Not many mainstream supermarkets sell that type of product, maybe just Whole Foods, Urban Fare and more upscale specialty stores.

if you think those beans are good then go to the actual coffee shop/roaster to get them instead of at the supermarket.
supermarket beans don't have roast dates, they just have best before dates.
basically beans at the supermarket could sit there for 6 months or more, but any respectable 3rd wave coffee shop wouldn't keep beans that are older than bout a month on their shelves.

Well, yes... that's why I suggested you get your beans from one

Interesting - the review I saw on youtube there was a drawer on the side you could pull out that gives you access to the grinder to clean it.

You can remove and clean the brewing unit and the where the grounds come out of the grinder but no way to easily access the the grinder itself without removing the housing and dismantling the unit. Or I couldn't figure it out.

There is a cover on the side to access the Group Head (?), but you can't access the hopper or the grinder that way. I've never had an issue, and think this machine is great, with multiple uses a day sometimes.

Damn, this would have been perfect to travel with if it had been 110-220v but it's 110 only

Bought mine in Dec due to the last rfd thread and we're sooo happy with it. We usually have 2-4 Americanos a day, it literally tastes just like what we'd get at a Cafe for $6, but we're plebs not discerning coffee snobs haha. We can't justify buying coffee out anymore.

The frother doesn't align to the base as everyone else said, you just get in the habit of popping a cup underneath to catch the mess while it's clearing. It will also often beep at you to throw out the grinds/waste even when it's almost empty, not sure if anyone has that issue. But it takes seconds to do so meh.
