PlayStation Plus offers subscribers an undeniable value. If one plays merely two free PS Plus games in any given year, the service practically pays for itself, making it a no-brainer for anyone that games regularly on PlayStation consoles. And while there are typically two free PS4 games added to PS Plus each month versus a single PS5 PS Plus game, PlayStation 5 gamers are really getting significant bang for their buck.
Thanks to PlayStation 5's backward compatibility with PS4, all of the free PS4 games that hit PS Plus are also playable on Sony's next-generation console. However, the PS4 can't play the free PS5 games that are added to the PS Plus lineup. There's a holdover game from the free PS Plus games for June 2021, which ups the total to four games that subscribers on Sony's next-generation console can claim and download. But that's not all. While those that have owned a PS5 for sometime may have already taking advantage of them, others may not necessarily realize that the console has a whopping 20 games available at all times to PS Plus subscribers.
Between the PS Plus Collection games, the free games added in July, and the holdover from the free PS Plus games for June 2021, subscribers on PS5 can net themselves a whopping24 free games at the time of this writing.

A Plague Tale: Innocence was leaked as a free PS Plus game for July 2021 ahead of time. It's the next-gen, enhanced version ofA Plague Tale: Innocence, itself a game set during the days of the Black Plague. In it, players have to guide their younger brother through perilous streets filled with deadly hordes of ravenous rats. It earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release and won some awards. Better yet, the next-gen version of the game should help gets players prepared for the sequel,A Plague Tale: Requiem, which is currently scheduled to release at an undetermined point in 2022.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, meanwhile, is theCall of Duty game from 2018. It's notable for being the only main seriesCall of Duty game that does not feature a single-player campaign at all, instead focusing its efforts entirely on three different experiences.Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has multiplayer, Zombies, and the Blackout battle royale, with all three of those modes stuffed with content to keep fans busy for the long haul.
