I loved the flexibility of the programs…
I loved the flexibility of the programs - all online and asynchronous, one class at a time. The course instructors and my program mentor were so eager to help me in any way I needed. My only wish is that the courses helped me more with curriculum scope and sequence.

I can't say enough positive things about WGU. At a point in my life where a degree seemed unreasonable, unaffordable, and unachievable - WGU proved me wrong on all counts with a valuable an accredited education.

Sucessful WGU Grad!
I went to WGU from July 2023 - April of 2024! I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I absolutely loved my experience! The staff were so sweet and accommodating. I love how affordable it is and how flexible it is! I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to pursue higher education in a less traditional way!

WGU Master’s Degree…
WGU helped me obtain my Master’s Degree in less than a year with its self-paced program. I’m a full-time manager and have three kids ranging from elementary school to high school and WGU gave me the flexibility to earn my degree while working and running kids between school and practices. My program mentor Nelda was my rock. I never wanted to let her down. She helped keep my goals attainable.

The class structure is great, the mentor is unnecessary.
The class structure and pacing is unbelievable. It can not be beat. I am self motivated and like to make my own schedule. I do not like having a mentor that I am required to check in with. I love the idea of it, if you have questions or need help or are falling behind. But as a successful adult student, it was bothersome. Once when I did need my mentors help I was given wrong information that set me back a full semester for student PCE. But I felt I couldn’t complain or else they wouldn’t recommend me for graduation. Regardless, I graduated and would consider completing my masters with WGU.

The educational model implemented at Western Governors University, which is based on competencies, proved to be highly effective in my case. As someone who has been working in the Business Management field for more than two decades, I was able to complete my entire degree in just over three months, thanks to my extensive work experience. The majority of the courses were well-structured and provided me with valuable resources that enabled me to learn effectively. The video cohorts, in particular, played a crucial role in my success. I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to commence my MBA studies at Western Governors University in the coming fall semester.
