Have you ever gone to play Sodoku or The Mini on the New York Time's website or app, and realized it's the same one from the day before? That's because The Mini and Sodoku reset their puzzles at 10:00PM on weekdays, , and 6:00 PM on weekends. This can be extremely misleading as the notion is that there is one puzzle per day, but the puzzles switch before the day is over or sometimes in the middle of the day. As a society we function around a 24 hour clock that starts at 12:00 AM and ends at 11:59 PM, so why wouldn't a daily puzzle reset with these same times? I am firm in my stance that changing the reset times to midnight would increase participation, and participating in these puzzles can increase literacy and positive moods, and both of these aspects of life could potentially achieve world peace.
